OUR MISSION CALL TO THE NEW HAMPSHIRE MANCHESTER MISSION

OUR MISSION CALL -
Barbara and I are honored, delighted, and somewhat nervous to have received a call to serve a Senior Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
We have been called to serve in the New Hampshire Manchester Mission, the exact same Mission where our son Rick served for 2 years, 22 years ago smile emoticon. We have been called to serve for 18 months. We report, to start our Mission, on June 6th. We definitely feel it is where the Lord needs us to serve. We are so grateful for this opportunity to serve in this beautiful area. The mission includes parts of New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, New York and Massachusetts. From what our son, Rick, tells us, and from what we have been able to find out, so far:
• This area is rich in American history
• It is set in a more rural part of America with open space and friendly people
• Members of the Church are pretty spread out.
We actually picked Rick up at the end of his mission, in Manchester, New Hampshire, and visited a few areas … but that was a long time ago. We have also visited the ports of Portland and Bar Harbor, Maine while on a fall cruise up the Northeast coast, a few years ago.
BTW ... we understand that it gets a tad bit cold up in “them parts” … perhaps we will need to learn to appreciate the taste of antifreeze? wink emoticon
At this point, we are pretty overwhelmed with all we need to do, before we start our Mission. But, it will all work out smile emoticon. Of course we are somewhat apprehensive, entering into never traversed experiences and geographical areas. However, Barbara and I are spiritually strengthened, knowing that the Lord is in charge and all will work together for good coming from our service, if we do our part.
